Our Puppy Process

I breed health-tested show dogs. 

This does not mean every puppy in the litter will be suited to showing, but ALL puppies undergo the same time, care, and attention.

My puppies will come fully registered, extensively socialized, started on leash, litter trained, with the first vaccine, microchipped, and will be de-wormed.

 

My AmStaffs are $2700 and my Staffords are $3000. Shipping will be extra.  Ear trims for AmStaffs are extra and are currently $850.  I require a non-refundable deposit of $200 to get added to my waitlist, an additional $300 when you settle on a litter. If you coming into this after a litter is born, the deposit is $500.  The remaining balance will be due once your puppy reaches 6 weeks or at least two days prior to pickup if you contact me after the puppies are 6 weeks old.

 

If you are out of state, you can fly into the Atlanta Georgia Airport (ATL) and I’ll meet you with the puppy. I will need to know which airline you use, so that I can make sure to have the right sized soft crate for your puppy’s trip. You will need to make sure you tell the airline that you will have a dog in the cabin with you on your return trip. Alternatively, you can pay to have a flight nanny come to your closest airport with the puppy (this is VERY pricey right now) or pay to have your puppy travel by car if the distance is 6 hours or less.

At this time, I do not sell puppies with full breeding rights. If you are interested in getting into the show scene, I will happily mentor you and you can be part of my team, but I will retain breeding rights. I offer a health guarantee which is outlined in the contract. I will send you a copy to look over. If you decide that we (you and I) make a good match, you can send me a $500 non-refundable deposit to hold a puppy for you. I like to get to know you, so that I can match you with the best puppy for your family.

Picking puppies: I do not ever sell 1st pick. As a show breeder, I breed to go forward with my breeding and showing program. Staffords typically have 3-6 puppies and AmStaffs have 6+. The first half of the litter will be reserved for show or show-friendly homes. Puppies have their conformation evaluated at 8 weeks. No picks will be made prior to 8 weeks.  This means you will placing a deposit to hold a puppy, but not a PARTICULAR puppy. They are available for pick up at 9 weeks.

AmStaffs can be cropped (ears) during the ninth and the tenth week.  I have a vet who does a fantastic job.  They shave the ear prior and it will look odd.  They are cropped under anesthesia and will be sent home with pain meds and antibiotics.  The vet is 3-4 hours south of me and this is an all day trip.  I leave at 4 am and get them home around 8 pm.  They will need to be picked up directly after, the same night or the next day.  It is extremely difficult to keep multiple puppies separate.  If you choose to crop, it will require after-care of suture removal and ear taping.  If I crop your puppy with my vet, you will be paying for the cost of the surgery, the meds, and the convenience.

I seldom offer Staffordshire Bull Terriers as Companion only, and show friendly homes are preferred.  Show Friendly: you keep the puppy as a pet though it must stay intact. Females can come to me when they’re in heat if you do not want to deal with it. Heats last 3 weeks and typically occur twice a year. Females bleed when they are in heat and attract males from all over the place. You cannot let them outside unattended EVER when they’re in heat. They are only fertile during the heat cycle.  The girls will come to me for breeding (one week) and whelping (11 weeks). They will not be bred before they reach 2 nor after they reach 6 years old.  At 6 years, they may be spayed.  Males will provide service to any bitch I own or co-own at no cost and any stud fee outside my program will be split 40% to you, 60% to me.  Any semen collected while the dog is with me, will solely belong to me.  If you choose to use a local professional handler instead of sending the puppy/dog to me for showing, you will be responsible for those charges.

 I keep photos of my girls on my Facebook Page: Irresistibull Staffords (https:// www.facebook.com/irresistibullstaffs/). All my dog photos are public.  Please do not publicly state which puppies you like best or everyone will be drawn to that puppy. Please have 3 you are drawn to and try your best not to pick your puppy on color alone; matching temperament and energy level works best to ensure a long and happy life between you and your puppy.

 I do not keep male dogs (Darwin is the exception), so if you want to meet the parents, know that the males I use are from all over the country and sometimes from other countries. You are welcome to come and see my girls.
